HEAD OF CENTER, MPRC

PROF. Ts. ChM. Dr. RADIN MAYA SAPHIRA BINTI RADIN MOHAMED

We welcome you to the Micropollutant Research Centre (MPRC), which has been declared a Centre of Excellence and is leading to research on environmentally sustainable. Established in 2013 as a research centre and recognized as COE status due to the consistently high evaluation score of MPRC by Hi-COE, MPRC is doing cutting-edge research on both organic micropollutants such as nutrients, pharmaceuticals, antibiotics, personal care products, and fertilizers, as well as inorganic micropollutants (specifically heavy metals) found in water, wastewater and the environment. These efforts are being undertaken to respond to current and future environmental challenges through innovative engineering, advanced technologies and green options that support both the industrial and community sectors.

As we move forward, we will be continuing to ensure our role as a national and regional Hub for Research on Environmental Micropollutants, while working collaboratively with industry, academia, and government towards developing sustainable technologies to provide long-term resilience to the environment. Our areas of expertise include are micropollutant research, green technology, water and wastewater treatment, and waste and resource recovery, and we will continue to provide intellectual and strategic support to achieving Malaysia’s Sustainable Development Goals through the provision of Scientific Advancement. We sincerely welcome researchers, students, and industry partners to join us in this vital endeavor towards a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future.
